The Ply Reporter is coming up with ‘DOORS SPECIAL ISSUE’ for which our intensive market, industry and product research is going on since 5 months. We are in process of analyzing every nook and corner of door sector to tap the changes that has happened during last decade. The entire door segment includes approximately 1400 manufacturer of flush doors, molded panel doors, laminated doors, membrane doors, veneered doors, solid wood doors, aluminum doors, WPC/PVC doors, fire rated doors, Pre-hung finished doors, Door + Frame with complete solution etc. All doors categories have potential and growing Year on year where as flush door is still largely sold product in door category.

Our findings indicate that India is set to offer huge growth potential in Pre hung doors and fire rated doors. Fire rated doors are not yet a very popular or focused category in India  because it lacks awareness, hence the demand. Around 10 to 12 brands are offering fire rated doors in India but there is no unanimous technology for producing such doors and different companies having its own technology and manufacturing parameters. The users and dealers are also not much aware about FR Doors range and they come to know, when they find special specification in particular projects queries mainly from government projects and high rise building in metro cities. Seeing fire hazards in modern living and rise in vertical living, our findings show that it is wonderfull doors product for people safety if producers and dealers drive awareness among users about its benefits. If India is able to produce such doors in huge volume, they can find market prospect overseas as well. It is an area we believe is needed a push, investment from manufacturers in technology and awareness which will help them to grow a product category and profits along with people’s safety.

At present, RERA has helped the demand of quality doors from organized sector, and producers shall be able to gain by standardizing sizes and thickness of doors. Many door producers are reportedly very hesitant in supplying doors to projects because of stricter quality norms but fear of default in payments and uncertainty in real estate is holding them to supply to builders/contractors. Seeing from a different perspective it is giving a fair opportunity to new suppliers who can cross check financial strength of a builder firm and supply materials along with quality because many builders are running under deadline to deliver their projects on time. Our door issue is taking more than estimated time because the sector is highly scattered, unorganized and do not have standardization. In fact that is why there is opportunity too.

This June issue is worthy read for decorative veneers, laminates, MDF, Shuttering ply, doors, plywood, face veneer, timber, ACP sector people because there are lots of reports based on research are being featured, which is an indicator of your business plan. The One2one interaction with Mr. Mahendra Gala, Director of Timex Plywood about his new technology, Mr. Nikhil Arora, Director of Virgo AluminumComposite Panels about commencement of production of his new ACP plant in Gujarat and with the directors of Yamuna Nagar Based Shree Jagdamba Panel on his new state of art technology plant for construction & transport sector plywood have also been published.
