Good Quality Particle Boards are Always Dear to Markets

2019 could be smooth and rewarding for particle board industry because of a decent demand coming from rural housing and corporate office segment. The industry trends also reflects that users are ready to pay a sustainably genuine price to good quality particle boards because there is a gap in demand - supply of high quality boards, hence the producers should focus on quality than go into price war, which happened in Particle Boards in 2018.

The Indian wood panel industry and market overview reveal bright prospect for quality particle board compared to scenario in plywood and MDF. The applicability and affordability with working ease in furniture making is so good with PB that it provide an edge for this material in Government sector, Ready - made furniture, commercial space, Budget housing, e - commerce furniture segment, economical furniture category etc. It is also found that Particle Board industry strengthened in 2018 because there was not much of capacity addition last year. Most of Indian Particle board plants are in tune of 180 to 250 cbm per day because such plants are economical, viable and have been in running trend since last 5 years. India is having above 10, 000 cbm per day capacity that includes wood and bagasse. Many bagasse based plants have license and infrastructure of making wood based boards also but there are few. Apart from domestic particle boards manufacturing, the imported boards have around one fourth of the share in mainly high quality boards, that is required by big and quality conscious furniture / OEMs and Kitchen brands.
