PPRTI Suggests Making a Plywood Manufacturing Unit from Water Pollution Free With Easy Process Change

Water pollution is a major concern for any industry and for the reason the industry has to face different regulation from pollution board authorities. Parvatiya Plywood Research and Training Institute (PPRTI) found a new method of plywood processing during its manufacturing through which the unit can become free from water pollution. After various tests and corrections they have proposed following precautions for the manufacturing PF or MUF in resin plants to eradicate water pollution generated from Glue mixtures and Glue spreaders.

Resin Cattle

It is a general believe that after making PF/MUF charge cattle must be washed. In fact after many tastings it has been found that for making next charge without washing the cattle there is a little difference in the colour but there is no difference in quality. Presently finding solute for water pollution is much important to the colour of resin.

a. After manufacturing PF or MUF Resin take out form cattle (the utensils in which resin is made) and place in formalin cattle as per the requirement and start the starrer to mix the remaining resin into formalin, after that make the next charge of resin.

b. After making last charge of resin before the weekly holiday fill the cattle with formalin and start the starrer for 15 minutes.

c. On the first day of the next week unload excess formalin and keep the required amount of formalin to make resin by mixing required material for next charge. The unloaded formalin will be used in making another charge.

For Glue Mixture/Glue Spreader

Generally it is misconception that on which glue mixture/glue spreader the glue for PF/MUF is running, washing is necessary if we change to different glues.

a. It has been found in many tests that there is no harmful effects appear if without washing the running glue we use another. By using this method we can reduce the water consumption resulting into water conservation and reduce water pollution.

b. Moving forward it is resulting that on the last day of the week the Glue Mixture/Glue Spreader should be washed and store that water after filtering it. Later a pinch of lime should be added in it. In this way there will be separation of much solid content.

This separated water can be used as a caustic for making solution. Again there is left amount of water, it can be used dipping solution (the solution in which plywood/black board/flush door, etc. is dipped to make it borer and termite proof). This innovative idea can make plywood unit free from water pollution.
