Schattdecor will be revealing its latest design trends on stand C020 / E029 in Hall 6 under the banner of ‘Multidimensional Lifestyles’. The company has produced a new Trend Book giving designers and other creative skills professionals a useful guide to the latest designs, materials and colours.

Modern lifestyles have a complex and multi-layered structure; there is constant demographic movement and an onward march of digital technology, coupled with much more conscious care for the environment. These and other factors call for increasingly individual design choices for the home. Schattdecor’s response to these worldwide changes in society has been to identify what it sees as the four leading drivers to trend changes; these patterns have been revealed in a new Trend Book, with the results to be on display on the company’s Interzum stand. Their international design team has produced a global trend prognosis of the major developments in interior design and new decors.

Claudia Küchen is Schattdecor’s head of marketing /design and corporate communications says: “Minimalism and natural appearance are the main headline terms defining the future of interior design. For this reason, some decors will be less complex and more restrained than more recent designs. However the trend towards natural appearance and touch characteristics will stay. Our design highlight is ‘Kitami’, which follows the trend towards natural appearance and visual restraint.”

The four lifestyle-trends defined by Schattdecor are ‘Community Zone’, ‘Micro Housing’, ‘Smart Home’ and ‘Ageless Living’. Community Zone features unusual types of communal life, and a more conscious relationship with the environment, as reflected for example by docalled ‘clean eating’, superfoods, fitness and relaxation. Micro Housing is a response to the increasing shortage of residential space. People are already faced with the challenge of finding ways to furnish, equip and live in very small dwellings. Smart Home tackles the issue of the inroads now made into the home by digital technology. In future, the smart phone will be used as a remote control tool for many systems in the home, and network their operation. However, the greater are digital inroads, the greater is consumer desire for the ‘genuine’ and ‘authentic’. Ageless Living tackles the challenge of demographic change: interior furnishing is as timeless as those persons who, having reached a good age, still wish to enjoy a modern lifestyle.

Claudia Küchen added: “On our stand we will have a complete range of different types of products and surface patterns. Digital print has opened up a huge range of new design choices. At the fair there will be an impressive display on our 700 metre-square stand.”
