It is also known that Interzum is a trend showcase plateform in surface décor segment, hence the event huge number of participation and visitors from the industry.

This year interzum had 27 Indian stalls of which 13 players belong to HPL industry. Indian brands are exporting HPL to different countries where the estimated export value is expected to reach around Rs 2000 crores annually. Besides exporting laminates companies, many others producers visit Interzum to see the trend, to meet the suppliers of décor paper and plates, to see the new launches and the foremost to get knowledge about world over demand and color trend.

The ply reporter use to witness visits of around 50 or more number of HPL players from India besides exporting laminates brand as see during 2015 and 2017. This time the number of visitors from laminate producer's segment was evidently dull. The HPL producing companies as visitors from India were reported to be below 20 that indicate a big shift in Indian market. The drop in numbers can be taken as reduced interest or affordability of European materials in Indian decorative laminate market.

Ply Reporter's team tried finding the cause such as, big chunk of Indian HPL producers are sourcing materials from China and India. The Press Moulds and Décor base paper is said to be available with China suppliers in no time, in a very short span after the designs launched in intezum. Copy ability has drastically improved with advent of mighty scanners hence there are more china visitors for understanding who later sell to India, hence Indians have begun saving their time and money. Similar views were reported by many old visitors when contacted by The Ply Reporter, post the Interzum 2019 show.

The visitor participation from decorative wood veneer sector was also reported to be lower compared to previous years expressed B2B participants of Interzum. The numbers from hardware and mattress segment has improved and it has been a beneficial show for various new trade visitors from hardware dealer and OEM segment.
