Mr. Han Jun, Vice President, Sufoma Machinery Co., Ltd. and Mr. Ren Ding (Andriy Ren), Sales Manager, Sufoma Machinery Co., Ltd. interacted with The Ply Reporter and explained that how they have been serving their international customers in this pandemic time for commissioning the plant.
How do you see India's wood panel industry with your market experience more than 20years in this area?
Mr. Han Jun: I feel honored to be associated with the development of wood-based panels in India. China has experienced rapid development in the past decades, and I believe India is also making progress towards this direction. Moreover, we have witnessed the development achievements of India in recent years. I think with the further increase of urbanization in India, the demand of ordinary residents for housing and home decoration will be more and more vigorous, which will stimulate the development of wood-based panel industry.
As the same as what in China, I think plywood will still be the most popular species in India by taking advantage of labor cost in the few years. Particleboard and MDF demand will increase at the same time and focus on personalized demand. MDF output is significantly higher than that of Particleboard in China, which is different from that the output of both are nearly the same in India. So the future development of Indian particle board should be towards high strength, glue saving, green environmental protection like super strong particle board, light particle board and other products which have been popular in China. For MDF, more high-density boards will be produced in the future for surface shape milling and door processing.

Mr. Ren Ding: We have been committed to continuous press and multi-layer press production line of MDF and particle board for more than 20 years. Sufoma provides the total design and manufacture most machines for MDF and Particle board production line. Sufoma produces Dyer, Screen for Particle board and Forming station, Multiopening/Continuous press, Master board handling section, Sanding machine and Cutting line for both MDF and Particle board. And debarker, drum chipper, flaker, miller, refiner and fiber dryer for chips and fiber preparation section are produced by Sufoma’ s brother company Zhongfoma whose overseas business is also undertook by me.
We usually need about 7 months for equipment manufacturing, and about 1 year can be put into production at the customer's site. During the epidemic period, we will use the remote way to guide the installation and debugging. Our equipment is modular design, which can be easily operated according to the instructions. Last year, we helped Oswin Panel for a 250cbm particle board line to put into production under the remote guidance.
In India, there is a perception that your machines are costlier than others, why?
Mr. Han Jun: Not only in India, there are also many customers in China and some other countries who say our products are expensive. Despite all this, Sufoma has more than 130 production lines running all over the world, and other 300 production lines with various sections and machines provided by Sufoma. The materials we use for our equipment are very solid and the accessories are all famous international brands so that all of our machines run stably. We devote ourselves to updating and optimizing technology continuously, which we will upgrade for all users freely. Moreover, we have rich market experience to provide customers best option and create new concepts to help them lead the market all the time.
How does an Indian customer connect or contact or finalise with your machines when there are difficulties due to travel restrictions? How do they believe?
Mr. Ren Ding: We have more than ten years of service experience in India with many successful production lines as reference which is the foundation of trust. Customers can use email or communication software to contact me for quotation. And technology discussion and business negotiation is available by video conference. Moreover, the rise of sea freight makes many countries vigorously develop their own manufacturing industry after the epidemic. I believe it is the time now to invest in new production lines and put into operation next year to dominate the market immediately when all recovers.
