However, the sudden dawn of the pandemic jolted the print rich magazines Ply Reporter and Surfaces Reporter. They used uncertainty as a platform for technological transformation.
When COVID struck, the uncertainties towards print media skyrocketed as people became apprehensive about hygiene and touching any surface. While Big Sea was already at pinnacle with three magazines all leading in their segments with most informative content, there was a question mark on the future. However, the Directors, Vertica Dvivedi and Pragath Dvivedi quickly realized that in order to to de-risk from the current crisis, bigger risks will have to be taken and with this thought in mind, they steer the entire team and business into the right direction.
The major investment in technology during the early April 2020 was a part of the bigger picture that the directors were envisioning for the future by the way of Digital Content Creation. Keeping aside the woes of return, heavy investments were made for broadcast and studio setup.
Ply Reporter which already enjoyed the status of being ‘The Voice of Trade’ and Surfaces Reporter which is one of India’s biggest premium magazines for architecture, design and material benefitted tremendously from these early steps and in less than 15 months, the teams together have executed more than 50 nationwide product launches, webinars, and 1500+ talk sessions, social posts and digital articles. Both magazines have now cited as the pioneers in digital news broadcast and tech adoption in building material, home and interior design industry.
The able team leaders of Bigsea Marcom played a crucial role in transforming the Technology into timely execution furthering the mission of making the print dominant content platforms to divert into multiple media.
While the world is still reeling under the pandemic, Bigsea Marcom is preparing for a hybrid future. The group is looking forward to organize the coveted Matecia building material & interior products exhibition along with their flagship conferences, WADE ASIA and India Interior Retailing (IIR) in May 2022 at New Delhi.
