Plantation Growers are applauded the decision of Haryana government stand of fresh licenses of wood based panel industry in state. The President of Haryana Poplar Safeda Growers Sangharsh Samiti, Mr Satpal Kaushik said that by establishing new plywood industries in the region, the very low prices of timber will stablise and hence Poplar and Safeda growers will be benefited. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also appealed to farmer for planting such plantation timber of sides of their lands to make India sustainable for timber availability.

Industry also expects that once the confidence of farmers boosts that will lead to more plantations in states because with new factory, the demand of timber will grow, and they will earn more money from plantation timber. Industry says that the stand of issuing new licenses is not only a boost for the new wood based industries but also a very significant and morale boosting support for the Plantation based Agro forestry, Farmers and entire Plywood sector. They also opine that the low wood prices have forced the farmers to stop new plantations but this initiative must reinstate the confidence in planters and it is in the best interest of farmers as well as Agro forestry.

It is sure that with new licenses, the poplar and Eucalyptus prices will rise to sustainable levels from 2018 onwards and will ultimately benefit every stake holder of this Agro Forestry Industry. But with increasing plywood production capacity the prices of finished product must be gone high and only quality plywood producers will sustain. GST will prove another game changer of Plywood industry in Northern India, which will impact every stakeholder such as planters, commission agents, producers, dealers and consumers.
