Nocte Group is a very popular and trustworthy company who is producing and marketing decorative veneers along with plywood, laminates, ACP and other panel products in India. The Ply Reporter interacted with Mr. Prakash Nandu of Nocte Veneer on his company’s growth and strategic move to achieve the future goals. Read a brief discussion with him.

Q.What are the new launches by Nocte Veneer?

A. Nocte Veneer tries to launch something new in the market every year and always. This year we have launched HD veneer which is getting very good response from the market.

Q. You introduced Metalic Veneer five years before, what is the status of your innovation of Metalic Veneer at present?

A. In the years 2013-14 a report was published into the Ply Reporter on this launch and the magazine had asked that for the offering which was different from the market trend, ‘Whether your new innovative Metalic Veneer will be successful?’ I remember I had replied that it will achieve resounding success and today it has become the first priority of showrooms and stock points. You can imagine the success today. Nocte team and dealers are overwhelmed by the market response and the success received. Nocte Veneer is regularly offering innovations. Its range has created a wide dealers base due to the good product and ethical practice of the company.

In my opinion the best model for selling veneer is stock model. One should work by maintaining stocks else they should be away from it!

Keeping good quantity of stock is the best model because if anyone does not invest sufficient amount he will not fall in love with this product.

Q. Which types of veneer is in trend and highly demanding at present?

A. Exotic collection in metallic veneer is in trend these days. Pomelli, Crotch and Burl Veneer with Metallic are much in demand. Metallic Veneer range is very innovative and has given a different option from the other available range. The metallic range is being appreciated by showroom owners as they have received very attractive applications by the architect fraternity. The metallic composition not only complements the Grey and many other colours but add a very specific high end niche to the natural veneers. Sensing this need of architects and designers, the company introduced around two dozens of exclusively developed veneers in metallic series that are aimed for projects and high end veneer buyers.

Q. What is the strength of Nocte Veneer?

A. Availability of stock, faster service and quick response are the USP of Nocte Veneer. Besides, as sometime especially metallic veneer does not get available in same colour, the company's speciality is to make available the matching veneer in very less time. This is our biggest strength.

These days some of the traders wish to work for on - approval basis, but we do not appreciate such model. I would like to suggest wait for six / eight months and understand the matter first then only one can be successful in this segment ! We motivate them and they also understand it well.

My message for dealers is to must identify the grade of veneer, as we identify lawyers, police, doctor or scientists, workers or business men by their uniforms before going to take their services.

Q. What is your plan to spread Nocte Veneer offerings across the country?

A. Today we are offering nearly 300 varieties of veneers. We already have presence across the country and doing well at every place. We are focusing on to strengthen of our associates and support them fulfilling their every need. This is one of our future plans as well.

Q. What message would you like to give your dealers? In other words why should they buy veneers from you?

A. My message for them is to must identify the grade of veneer, as we identify lawyers, police, doctor or scientists, workers or business men by their uniforms before going to take their services.

Q. According to your experience what is the best model for selling veneer?

Q. For veneer applications, how much important is coating over it? And how customers should choose it?

A. The method of coating has changed a lot. The coating should be done by machines and the skilled labour should perform the duty only because of the different species the formulas of coatings are different. If you are offering anyone the job for coating, first check two - three sites done by him, otherwise the desired finish to the expectation will not come.
