Last year, MATECIA EXHIBITION at New Delhi reported a thumping success, which scripted a new story for Wood and Decorative Panel Industries of India. First time, 50 laminate companies showcased their range. For the first time, there was a special Plywood Pavilion, where more than 50 plywood manufacturing brands exhibited.
Actually MATECIA is the first platform with focused on niche B2B conferences onboarding manufacturers, traders, architects, furniture makers, marketers, influencers and related categories. Their knowledge and views are paving way to grow the market and organise the interior and exterior product industry with IIR (India Interior Retailing) and WADe conferences.
IIR (India Interior Retailing) awarded wood panel and decorative retailers and distributors for their great work, innovation, honesty and investments in different categories. MATECIA is the first exhibition, which has achieved the objective to establish a successful national exhibition in Delhi with 25000 – 30000 B2B buyers and channel partners from 500 + towns and cities of India.
This year it is going to organise at the same venue from 22-24 September 2023 with double the area. ‘Plywood Pavilion’ of MATECIA brought the plywood domain to an organised format, a big step towards ‘removing the Tag of Plywood from unorganised dominant industry’ and create a platform, where the new generation of plywood entrepreneurs could learn, meet and do networking with traders from pan India, initiate efforts to turn their business into ‘Organised segment’.
More than 50 plywood brands exhibited, 90% companies were first time exhibitors. While India’s plywood industry is struggling but, it is also true that there is no alternate of plywood for furniture making. The growing acceptance of ‘Calibrated Plywood’ is another opportunity for the sector, but plywood industries need to be much louder, more presentable and initiate marketing efforts to sustain and grow.
