Kerala based Sawmill Ownwer’s and Plywood Manufacturers Association has announced the suspension of Plywood manufacturing operations from 1st September to 8th September in pursuance of the Onam festival.
FIPPI points out that about 92% of the wood used comes from “Trees Outside Forests” (ToF) or agroforestry, benefiting over 1 million farmers.
As per the reports, about 1350 fake ISI-marked plywood sheets were seized from 3 shops at Samrala Chowk, Ludhiana under the directions of BIS Chandigarh team.
