With the considerable reduction, noted in the price of PVC resin, which had earlier crossed from Rs 70 to beyond Rs 100 per kg during the US-Iran war, the market of PVC/WPC boards, Laminate & Edge band has been reported to get some stability in the prices.
As per the reports from various producers, the price of PVC resin has been hovering around RS 75-78 for last few days, which has brought some relief to the particular segment as the inflated resin cost, triggered by surge in chemical price had forced the producers to reduce the production by 30-40% during the conflict. Earlier many WPC/ PVC products related companies had also asked up to 15% price increase in finished products such as PVC boards, Doors, PVC laminate, Edge bands to manage high raw material costs.
The moderation in the PVC resin cost can be assumed owing to the measures taken by the Government to waive off the custom duty on some of the imported chemicals for 3 months till June.
