Growing Demand of Doors Need Standardization

Doors have become the significant interior products for home furniture because interior designers and home owners are much concerned about its colours, designs and textures which should be matched with other interior elements. The market has variety of doors range such as laminated doors, moulded panel doors, veneered doors, membrane doors etc along with so many coatings and paints are also available for doors surface. Approx 1000 companies are involved in doors manufacturing such as flush doors, WPC / PVC doors, MDF and HDF made doors, Steel doors etc but the doors demand is being dominated by informal sector because it lacks standardization.

There are dozens of varieties available in doors market because the requirements are different in terms of sizes and thicknesses. The variation of sizes have compelled unorganized producers to invest in doors manufacturing but the scenario has been turned in last 3 to 4 years because a dozens of big wood panel companies has invested lots of fund in doors sector and a many new entrants are looking for fresh investment. Besides, reports also confirm that many existing door producers are installing new machines for laminating, coating, cutting, wrapping etc.

Kalpataru Doors, Century Ply, Greenply, Greenlam, Corbett, Timex, Spacewood, Bhutantuff, etc are formal brands in wood panel based doors categories. Action Tesa has recently introduced HDHMR grade doors, which they are receiving very good response from the market. Besides, number of doors' brand located in Southern India market such Geeta Doors, Elegant, Edoors, Standards etc are very much significant presence in doors market. Hyderabad based Bison Panel Group also has entered into doors manufacturing, and report suggests that a dozen of new companies are entering into doors sector but all having single worry that is lack of standardization in terms of sizes and thickness.
