The national general body also suggested being conscious about payment and demand/supply.
All India Plywood Manufacturers' Association decided to increase the rates of finished products such as plywood, block board, flush door and alternate plywood across the country. The association has requested their members to implement the increased price with immediate effect.The decision was taken into a meeting of executives of “All India Plywood Manufacturer’s Association “was held on Saturday 16th March 2019, at India Expo and Mart, GREATER NOIDA. During the meeting Mr. Devender Chawala, President; Mr. Naresh Tiwari, Chairman; and other senior office bearers such as Mr. Vikas Khanna, Manish Kedia, Mr. Ashok
Agarwal, Mr. Ashok Juneja, Mr. Inderjeet Sohal, Mr. Ajay Sardana etc were present.
The decision has been taken such as
1) Price Hike: To meet the immense price hike in timber increase the Price/Rate of finished products POPULAR plywood, Block Board & Flush Doors by 10% and alternate plywood by 6%. Every manufacturer has been requested to strictly implement these rate revisions with immediate effect.
2) To maintain the balance of Demand and Supply: Curtail over production by lowering the working hours from 14 hours a day to 10 hours. State associations are requested to conduct meeting of manufacturers in their area for working 5 days a week and give feedback / suggestions of the outcome, so that the matter can be taken up in General House Meeting.
3) Payment terms: Due to increasing price of raw material and that too on No Credit basis, involvement of funds have increased tremendously and the industry is facing acute payment crunch due to delayed payments, so, sell your finished products either on instant payment or minimum credit facility.
Talking about the use of ground water Mr Naresh Tiwari, Chairman of AIPMA instructed the industry leaders to think about the use of ground water and the notice and dead line to get NOC about it. It is noted that the procedural issues pertaining to getting NOC is very complicated and tedious and goes against the objective of the government for ease of doing business. The requirement listed for getting the NOC is very long and will be very difficult to fulfil for MSME. He also talked about strengthening the national body AIPMA so that the industry do not get divided in regional advantages for manufacturing and trading in wood panel industry.
Mr Devender Chawla, President, AIPMA attracted the delegates' attention towards strengthening the hands of AIPMA so that a single voice can go to the industry manufacturers and traders and its implementation could become easier. This is the only solutions to challenges before industry. He also narrated the various challenges before the industry and how the industry leaders altogether overcome it. He said that today's generation is very ambitious and are thinking globally. But we should act locally and lead the industry to get mature with vision.
For the use of BIS marks the executives present in the meeting were agreed to take up this at General House meeting of AIPMA to be held shortly and discuss the matter with deep interest.
