Following on the runaway success of MAK Plywood Industries' Kerala Channel Partners' meet last year (in May 2018), the Company recently held its second large - scale annual Channel Partners' meet at the Grand Hyatt premises, Bolghatty Island, in Kochi, on 27th April 2019.

With the relatively rapid success of the Trojan brand of premium plywood in Kerala over the past decade or so, the staff and management at MAK Plywood Industries have been buoyed up enough – and justly so – in confidence and spirits to call for, and to conduct in style, this second Channel Partners’ Meet in quick succession to the first.

With almost all major, and minor, Kerala-based dealers of the Company attending the mega event at the Grand Hyatt, and with the Company Chairman –Mr. Mohammed Arabi Kumbla – himself in attendance along with his Board of Directors and all other major Regional/ Zonal Managers, not within just Kerala, but also from neighboring Tamilnadu, the event was clearly projected as a celebration and coming together of all that makes Trojan click as an enviable plywood brand in Kerala today. The focus on the Kerala sales team, too, was quite apparent, with the entire sales and administration team in the state – right from the junior sales executives to the senior most in the hierarchy – all in prompt attendance for the event.

The half-day event was formally flagged off at 7 PM with the opening welcome address by Mr. Gopi M, who is also the Company’s State Head for the Institutional Business segment in Kerala.

Next, the Chairman addresses the gathering and offered his personal touch to the event, before the Director of Strategy, Mr. Rajesh Nair, in his presentation, announced the launch of Trojan's new T21 Product Guarantee campaign.

He announced that the best-selling Trojan Classic grade of plywood would be enhanced in terms of product quality so much so that the Company will now provide even a guarantee card valid for 21 years for the same product –a development that will surely build dealer confidence even further.

General Manager (Production) Mr. Zafar Khan, spoke briefly on innovations now underway with regard to the qualitative enhancement of products rolled out by the Company over the course of the last financial year.

Mr. Khan also expressed the studied opinion that the production lines at the factory would be fully automated within the near foreseeable future. The manual workforce would, thereby, be reduced to a bare minimum, and the associated overheads further streamlined.

Asst. General Manager (AGM) for Kerala Channel Sales, Mr. James R, presented the Kerala team’s achievements and strengths and also introduced each member of the team to the audience. Each of the dealers was facilitated on-stage by the Chairman who also gave away the mementos and Best Performer awards.

While the dinner and casual networking opportunity thereafter were deeply reflective of Trojan’s vibrant culture of rapport-and- relations-building as also the spirit of business cooperation which it envisions, the live musical treat in two remarkable sessions during the meet proceedings led by the child prodigy, Lydian Nadhaswaram, and amply complemented by his sister
Amrita Varshini, took the audience by surprise, and kept them spell-bound for the duration of the performances. All said and done, Meet this time was more focused and heralded the way things are set to change for the better at Trojan – today one of India’s most respected brands of plywood.
