Markets Will Start and Slowly Move on From 1st Gear To 2nd, 3rd And Then To Full Speed There is No Permanent Damage to Businesses! - Mr Sanjay Agarwal, Managing Director, Century Plyboards (India) Ltd.

ON LOCKDOWN IMPACTS: During lockdown, any consumer did not do much hence it is like a pause button. People’s income is down, so their spending will also reduce. If we forget first quarter, there won’t be much problem later. You do not have to do anything because system is ready there, as it was, just put on hold. We need to just do the oiling, checking. It will start and slowly move from 1st gear to 2nd, 3rd gear and then to full speed. There is no permanent damage to this industry. It will be back with change in position and behaviour of recovery of the pandemic.

ON FUTURE OF THE TRADE: I think, by end of second quarter, every one of us will reach near to business levels of last year in the corresponding period, because working capital is still there in the pipeline, not disappeared. Just that, fund has stopped moving for now. However, by Q2, we all will learn to live with this pandemic.

Change or perish! The coming time will be tough but with efforts and dedication towards work and businesses, we will very comfortably pass this crisis led by COVID19. We need not worry much about present but should face it with awareness. After two to three years, you may look back and say nothing had happened.

WISDOM FROM THE PAST: In 1920, after Spanish flu pandemic, the world grew and it’s only after that we achieved progress liketrains, aeroplanes, vehicle, computers, television and telecommunication, all in just 100 years after last world threatening pandemic. I think, after COVID pandemic 2020, the world is going to see a lot of developments, that will be commendable and we will forget this year 2020. But it is definitely the time to adopt changes!

ON CHANGES: Change or perish! The coming time will be tough but with efforts and dedication towards work and businesses, we will very comfortably pass this crisis led by COVID19. We need not worry much about present but should face it with awareness. After two to three years, you may look back and say nothing had happened
