Pre-Press Based Modern Plywood Plants Will Be the Industry Trend In 2021

There is a boom time expected for new set of plywood plants in 2021. With a clear change in demand pattern observed in retail market of plywood, where importance of pre-pressed and calibrated plywood is being felt, the trend of new plant set will catch up more speed. Despite of license issues and objections, the modification of plywood plants will gather momentum and speed during 2021 due to growing readymade furniture working, shows gathered primary data at The Ply Reporter.

The information coming in from enquiries made at various machinery makers indicate the trend of large and modern plywood factories across plywood industries clusters. The need of calibrated set up is clearly being felt in clusters of Uttar Pradesh, Yamuna Nagar, NCR regions, Southern India belts and even in states like Bihar and Bengal. The rising demand for 16mm fully calibrated plywood by OEMs and even contractors end, will infuse further momentum in modification and establishments of modern laid out plant.

So far India has around 50 cold press-based plywood manufacturing plants, which are estimated to double in Year 2021. The calibrated and cold press-based trend is set to spread and extend in years to come. The film faced plywood category is also improving with new plants that are based on conveyor-based composing before pressing. In shuttering plywood category, year 2021 is also expected to witness calibrated pressing initiative with rise in uses of framebased formwork systems in construction. The phase of modernisation and quality based improvements in plywood manufacturing plant is also induced due to rising acceptance of MDF and substitute products.
