A fire breakout has been reported at Sadar Bazar Timber market Gurgaon on Wednesday, 07 April 2021 which gutted a plywood shop Deepak Trading Co and a hardware store Sumit Enterprises into it. Deepak Trading Company is the parent company of Decora a leading name in Kitchen and Acrylic Panel manufacturing located Gurugram. Talking with The Ply Reporter, Mr. Saurabh Jain, Director, Decora Group said that the fire was caused due to electric short circuit in adjacent shop, Sumit Enterprises and due to delay arrival of fire brigade team, it caught my shop also. There is loss in crores but no casualty of life.

As per report, both the business establishments are having huge losses of goods and property due to this fire broke out. Sumit Enterprises,a hardwood store, runs in a five-story building in which first the fire catches and later the adjacent shop, Deepak Trading, a plywood shop, gutted into it. “The fire that broke out was so heavy that its smoke was clearly visible from Sector29 itself,” said Mr Isham Singh, a fire fighting official. “Over 25 fire fighting vehicles were involved to extinguish the fire that took over 16 hours. It was peak hour that’s why reaching the vehicles was a bit delayed due to heavy traffic. Due to which the fire spread into every floor of the building. Secondly, the electricity was continuously supplied which helped the fire to spread and the firefighters were having difficulty in extinguishing it because without disconnecting the supply, it was not possible to control the fire", informed Mr Isham Singh.
