Construction Sites On, Shuttering Ply Units Optimistic To Bounce Back

The construction sites are resuming their operation despite of lockdown announcements and this has proved a breather for builders, workers and material supplying companies. So far till writing this news, Shuttering Plywood and doors segments demand have been decent by maintaining around 80% compared to average of past 3 months in Q4. The un-interrupted construction activities amidst lockdown in many states like Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi etc has kept the dealers and stockist open their outlets so far. It has given a hope for film face shuttering and door units to remain operational during covid times. Sighting this demand momentum, The laborers are being facilitated with food and stay at factories as well as construction sites reveal labour contractors.

The factories operating in Punjab, Haryana and Lucknow belt are optimistic that lockdown won’t be hitting them so hard like last time as government is not willing to call for any closure. That is a reason why, there is no consensus made so far among manufacturing clusters on closing down units.

Although demand is low due to fear among people but the building material products of specially film face shuttering and doors are reported to be operational at even slow pace. The Ply Reporter find that the furniture manufacturing, government projects, road construction, residential and commercial projects are continued, which is helping the Timber, Film Faced Shuttering Plywood, payment movement, even supporting plywood demands.

The reports from Rajasthan, Delhi, Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra indicates that shops are not being opened properly but if the requirement comes to them the supply from go-downs and warehouses are continued to the construction sites. On other side, the payment scenario looks challenging from projects, which is stating difficult for manufacturers and supplier,

Contrary to first wave of covid, this year manufacturers are confident of a stronger comeback because the demand is strong and there is no inventory lying in markets. Last year, sudden lockdown badly impacted industries and everything became stand still also because even transport sector movement was frozen. But this time the transport system is as usual continue and supply is smooth lined to the required locations thus till writing the news plywood and door units are reportedly operating at 50% of capacity so far.
