Rising raw material prices have created a huge turmoil in the decorative laminate market. According to the latest report, many brands in the laminate market like Merino, Greenlam etc. have decided to increase the rates from 1 October 2021. In a directive issued by the company, it has been said that billing at the current rate will be done only till September 30, and orders can be placed for this till September 21.
According to the information received from the market, there is news of an increase in the rate of 15 to 40 rupees per sheet in different thicknesses. Market sources say that other brands have also issued letters to their distributors in the market to increase their rates, and are preparing to do something, which states that due to the huge jump in the price of raw material, the rate has been increased.
On the other hand, the biggest impact of the steep increase in the rate of melamine has been continuously rising the input cost of liner laminate, according to the reports received from the market, the price of melamine has reached around Rs 340 per kg, due to which the cost of liner laminate (0.72 mm) thickness has crossed Rs 400. It has reached above that level which is considered to be the biggest increase so far.
