Metro Decorative Announces Ambitious Expansion Plan, Setting Up 1000 Cbm Wood Based Panel Capacity Unit In Uttarakhand - Mr. Aman Garg, Director

Metro Decorative plans to leap forward with a wider footprint in wood based panel manufacturing by establishing a fully automatic plant at Kashipur, Uttrakhand. The newly established plant will have manufacturing facilities of MDF, Particle Board, and Plywood. The plant will be equipped with state-of-the-art latest technologies for the respective segment of operations.

Mr. Aman Garg, Director, Metro Decorative Pvt Ltd talking to the Ply Reporter said that the land acquisition and licensing process have been completed and we are in process of finalizing machineries and other equipment. This plant will be spread in an area of 25-acre factory premises with all latest machinery. In the first phase, the company will start with an MDF product which will have an operational capacity of 550 Cubic Meters per day of continuous press.

 

Within the premises 300 Cubic Meters capacities will be of Particle Board with multi-opening press and 150 CBM of Calibrated and Laminated Plywood manufacturing unit with four presses installed capacity. “At present, the required land acquisition has been completed. SLC has granted the permission and the license has been issued by the forest department for establishing the above” he informed.

“The commercial production of MDF is expected till March 2023 and in another three to six months, Particle board and Plywood units will start their commercial production. Metro Decorative Pvt Ltd turnover has targeted to cross its turnover of Rs 300 crore by this Financial Year of 2021- 22 with existing operations. After completion of all these three units the company turnover is expected to cross Rs 1000 crore by the year 2023-24,” he added.

Commenting on challenges of timber availability in the future he said, “I don’t think so, as timber availability will be there but the prices may go up. The lops and tops of trees will be plenty in the region. We use plantation based Eucalyptus timber for our manufacturing, which is sustainably available in this region. “
