All India PVC Laminates Manufacturers Association (AIPLMA) has issued a letter saying that to boost sales in the market, their members have decided to reduce the prices of PVC laminates by Rs. 50 per sheet from 1st  December 2021 as per the respective base prices in all series of materials. They also added that the PVC film prices have increased to 25 % in the last 30 days and PVC resin prices are also almost the same level. Such moves are taken by PVC Laminate industry to regain its market share, which is also supported by softening of PVC resin prices presently.

PVC Boards manufacturers are also expected to regain its market share, which will ease the prices of raw materials because the industry was unable to use its more than 50 percent capacity, and many other products are taking their market share. Industry hopes that the prices of PVC resin and other raw materials would come down further, which will help the users to get PVC boards for furniture  making. Mr Deepankar Garg from Alstone WPC says that it would be difficult to sustain this product at Rs 170 psft rate for a long time, which he has been forced to increase due to high prices of PVC resin. He hopes that the price should come to the previous level of 100 so that this product could regain its market share, and the growth remains in the coming time.

During a discussion with Ply Reporter the industry leaders expressed that with rising input cost the quality is being compromised by some players and the density has reduced to 0.4 that is the reason the customers started to run away from this product because the strength factors, flexibility, screw holding capacity like factors are losing trust. The scenario is affecting those who are weaker on branding and forcing the unorganized players to shut their operations.
