Uttar Pradesh is going to become the highest manufacturing capacity of Bagasse based Particle Boards after surpassing Gujarat and Maharashtra. As per report, four new baggase based Particle Boards manufacturing lines are going to be set up in the state, which will commence its production in the last quarter of FY 26. Sitapur belt has emerged as the hub for Baggase based units followed by Muzzafarnagar.
Report says that two new units are commissioning in Sitapur belt which will together add 600 cubic meters per day capacity, and they will commence its production in the next cropping season. Yamunanagar based Trenox group is setting up a 300 cubic meters per day capacity plant in Shahjahnpur area, which is expected to start at the end of this year. One small unit is reported to set in Muzzafarnagar area in Uttar Pradesh.
As per report, with adding new production units, Uttar Pradesh Bagasse based Particle board capacity will reach to approx 4000 cubic meters per day, that would be approx 45% of total capacity of India’s Bagasse based Particle Boards. Mr. MayankKhandelwal, Director, SRB Boards, the highest Bagasse based PB capacity, says that the new addition will create a pressure on raw materials procurement for the industry. He appreciates the Government move of 5% GST on Bagasse based Particle Boards, and says that it will help this sector to grow in the future.
