ILMA to Host Meeting on 20th March Volatile Chemicals Prices Forcing Second Price Rise in Laminate

Tuesday, 17 March 2026

Methanol prices are noted to increase every day, which has impacted the rate of Formaldehyde. As per industry report, Formaldehyde has registered the highest jump in market, which has disturbed the manufacturing of High Pressure Laminate. Other chemical prices are also noted to have an upward trend every day.

Seeing the increasing trend and scarcity of different raw materials, ILMA, Indian Laminate Manufacturers Association has called a meeting of its members on 20th March, 2026 online to discuss the impact of cost escalation due to raw material prices.

In a letter to member ILMA says, “Further to our advisory dated 9 March 2026, the industry continues to face sustained pressure due to ongoing disruptions in the supply of key raw materials. Prices of critical chemicals have increased further, and availability remains uncertain. In view of this continued escalation, the Board Members of ILMA are currently evaluating the need for issuing a second cost increase advisory to the industry. However, before any such decision is taken, it is important to consider the perspectives of all members. Accordingly, a joint online meeting of all association members is being convened to discuss the current situation and gather inputs”.
