Particle Board usage has significantly increased in recent times in office furniture and other economical grade furniture segments in India. However, in the wood panel industry, the particle board has long been undermined for being a low value product that yields low margins to retailers; hence its acceptance in the retail market has been limited.
In India, the capacity of Particle Product installation stands at over 20000+ CBM the product has yet to find its applications and usage beyond office & modular furniture. Now after much research and development by Particle Boards companies across the country, this segment is witnessing a quiet revolution. The introduction of high density and Moisture Resistance PB with over 750+ kg/m³ has created a buzz in the retail market.
In the year 2025, more than a dozen PB manufacturers introduced high density products in the particular segment. Consequently the acceptance of the PB in the retail market has also gained traction with the increasing use by carpenters in shutters & beds etc.
As per recent reports, in the branded segment, companies such as Merino, Greenlam, CenturyPly, Action Tesa and many others have shown remarkable focus on the product by launching high density PB. These boards have shown a promising future in the furniture market with its high density and cutting edge innovation. It is very much expected that the Particle Board is likely to set new trends in the furniture segment in the near future.
