Plywood trader arrested for selling counterfeit product in Khurja, UP

A local plywood trader has been arrested by police from Khurja in Bulandshahar district for selling counterfeit plywood. During the investigation three trucks of counterfeit plywood have been seized on the spot and over 15 tone valued to Rs 8 lakh was found from their depot. The alleged trader, Pradeep Tayal alias Bobby of Tayal Timber and Plywood Store, was using ‘Caliber’ brand Trade Mark on their low grade material. While the brand ‘Caliber’ originally belongs to Mr Ajay Maniktala, Owner of Yamunanagar based Sri Gopal Udyog and President, Haryana Plywood Manufacturers Association.

Talking on the matter Mr Ajay Maniktala said, “The alleged trader is Khurja resident Pradeep Tayal who has been using Caliber brand Trade Mark on his product. Due to which the brand was losing its goodwill and we have to face economical loss.” Mr Ajay had asked him not to sell with his brand name but the alleged person did not pay attention. Later he met with police officer and complained about the matter and the police came into action and the alleged person get arrested by the police.
