After announcement of lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic, Wood, Decorative Panel & Plywood industry and trade came to a standstill. Everyone started calculating the loss and damage due to lockdown period. After a week of the trend of growing Corona Cases, it was clear that the situation of lockdown will extend further because there is no option other than staying at home.
The Ply Reporter team, while maintaining the sanity of lockdown and analyzing the situation, immediately jumped into action and created the ‘PR COVID ACTION TEAM” at homes of a dozen of team members located in Delhi-Mumbai and equipped them with required technical infrastructure to successfully connect with them and thereby lead as Front liners to connect the industry people as well. Mr. Pragath Dvivedi, Chief Editor of the Ply Reporter gave a strong message to entire wood panel sector through his video byte, and logically explained why every stakeholder in present challenging scenario should stop panicking and get into action. This video message was viewed by 86000 people at Ply Reporter’s Social Platforms and shared on Facebook and WhatsApp by several thousands of people. Followed by this message, the Ply Reporter team planned a Webinar to discuss the “Challenges and Opportunities of wood panel sector” due to COVID pandemic and connected the pioneers of plywood and panel industry along with representation of Associations and Technical institutes. Consecutively, the Ply Reporter organized 2nd Webinar with 22 panelists of Decorative Surface Industry and trade people of 14 states. Both Webinars engaged more than 1.75 lakhs people of wood panel industry, trade and stakeholders on Zoom and Ply Reporter’s Facebook page, and received 25,000 comments and liked/shared/ viewed by 65,000 people altogether. During this time, the Ply Reporter also felicitated some Webinars for industry manufacturers for their internal discussions in order to facilitate proper flow of information.
