Can you share your story behind your foray into PVC laminate manufacturing?

laminate manufacturing? In 2011, we started manufacturing of WPC boards with a vision to make India greener and cleaner. Earlier Plywood, MDF, Particle Boards are all wood-based products which involved cutting of trees. Alstone with this vision made WPC, a product which would not require cutting of trees. From 2011, we started venturing in grills, doors, door and window frames, SPC flooring industry. By the end of 2019, we entered into decorative range in which paper based laminates had a large share of the market. Paper based laminates result in destruction of trees, environmental pollution, increased carbon footprint which result in reduced high quality life. Thus we entered into the laminate range of products and take Alstone Surface Decorative solutions to new highs with the same vision.

In PVC laminate segment, there are many small capacity plants; how it is beneficial or disadvantageous?

PVC laminate concept is a low investment project and small companies easily venture in this industry. Regional working has its own advantages like in the form of advertisements PVC laminates reach to a large number of local customers. But the disadvantage is that lower quality material is pushed in the market, service oriented working is missing and the overall respect that a product should command from its consumers gets lowered day by day.

Why do you thinks architects are not much fascinated using PVC laminates?

Architects and OEMs are not much fascinated about using PVC Laminates because of two reasons. First, in India, there is a scarcity of good factories that can cater to the demand of the architects and OEMs working. And second, in PVC Laminates, the current choice of colours available in the shade card is not very exciting and is not connected to the nature. Architects and OEMs are not eager to make use of those available shades in their works. Alstone PVC laminates has considered this fine aspect and has carefully chosen the shades after proper market research and feedback of the professionals. AlstonePVC range will surely be liked by architects and OEMs and thus we are hopeful of changing the face of this industry soon.
