How did you come into PVC laminate manufacturing?
We started, in 2016, as a decorative laminate manufacturing brand. Our products are available panIndia with more than 70 active distributors. PVC laminates was an obvious choice for us as was demanded by our channel partners. We thought this product has functionalities much better than normal laminates. Besides the design options, PVC laminates are water resistant, termite resistant, etc; these are not possible in high pressure laminates but are available in PVC. So we decided to go for PVC laminates manufacturing.
How do you see the future of PVC laminate in India?
We see a great future for PVC laminates provided all the manufacturers provide knowledge and don’t just give discounts to sell easy and cheap. This product offers many advantages over other surface decor options like being water proof and 90 degree bendable. With the emergence of many new finishes, this notion of PVC laminates being a horizontal is being broken every day, we offer many finishes that can be used in number of ways and also in various applications. With emergence of Indian manufactured product, many who had written off PVC laminates for various problems that it had now are coming back to it.
According to you why should a customer choose PVC laminates for their laminating needs?
PVC laminates is a water proof product that can offer various finishes that is not possible in other surfacing options at this price, also in current scenario when everyone is concerned about Hygiene if we bend PVC laminates. We can also eliminate corners that can breed bacteria, PVC should be a obvious choice, we would also like to add as far as I know, ADVANCE laminate is the only company that offers certified lead free PVC laminates and people will now realize that nothing can be taken for granted and will only ask for products that while being value for money also offers health and safety at the same time.

In PVC laminate segment small capacity plants are many. How it is beneficial or disadvantageous?
Small set-ups while being profitable for promoters in short term and also creating a market in the short term is dangerous, in the long run when product innovation and education is not catered to, so I would say beneficial for everyone in the short run and dangerous in the long run.
Architects and OEMs are not much fascinating or aware about using PVC laminates. What is your view?
This question will not be relevant in near future, with so many new finishes now evident in PVC laminates, I really believe that everyone will be supporter of PVC laminates very soon, I agree the current status is of unawareness and disappointment.
There are a number of application aches, what is your advice to your customers in this regards?
I would like to say that PVC is a wonder product but like being every new thing its taking some time to be understood by everyone, we as a company carry out many educational initiatives to educate about applications and usage. We do face problems from time to time but we understand it will take time and effort to ultimately wash away this notion that PVC is a problem product.
