The film face shuttering plywood demand is notably improving with starting of construction activities across the country. The report received from various project consultants and builders across India is not only very encouraging but also reflecting in film face plywood demands. The shuttering plywood manufacturers are receiving decent orders from distributors that are led by requirements emerging at large construction sites and government projects. In North India, the Film Face Plywood manufacturing units are running at 70 to 90% capacity which is considered to be very good in case of plywood segment. Almost every player manufacturing film face is upbeat with pendency of orders. According to survey by Ply Reporter at different construction sites, the held-up or slow-moving projects have now resumed their work in full swing, that has generated shuttering ply requirements at large.
The order flow is coming from cities in the states of Andhra Pradesh,Telangana, Karnataka,west UP and Rajasthan. The construction activities have taken a fast pace in these states as new manufacturing facilities of different products are also being installed apart from government led projects. The commercially leading cities like Pune, Kolhapur, Baroda, Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam, Hubli, Delhi- NCR, Mohali along with Tri-cities are also driving the demand. Tamil Nadu is recovering slowly, as it got affected for prolonged period from Covid. The delayed project work in the state which also resumed now that added the consumption of shuttering plywood.
The survey results are evident that post November, the construction activity in cities like Madurai, Coimbatore, Tirchy, Selam are gradually increasing. Besides, Karnataka, Odisha are also going on with good momentum in this category. The economical MR grade shuttering plywood is in high demand in rural markets and tier three cities across the country. While in big projects 34 kg Pf is continued to be in demand. The overall scenario for Semi-densified grade of commercial shuttering plywood is witnessing a sharp rise after pandemic.
The manufacturers say that they are getting consistent orders although according to them there is not a high pace in order placement but there is nearly 15 days pending orders. In January, a meeting was organized by film face shuttering plywood manufactures in Chandigarh where they decided to increase the price by Rs 1 per sq ft. Although the market do not observe the rise so far but is expected to reflect in coming weeks.With increasing demand, the manufactures are confident and upbeat. There are reports that expansion is being observed in a number of shuttering plywood units and new presses are being installed by them in Northern as well as Southern regions.
