Shree Krishna Papers Mills & Industries Ltd (SKPMIL) ventured into base paper manufacturing for Film Faced Plywood in the year 2011 and has a large number of satisfied customers today. They are an almost 45 years’ old company that started operations at Bahadurgadh, Haryana with a coating unit. It was the first company to bring thermal-sensitive paper manufacturing technology to India. Thermal sensitive papers are used at the point of sales, ATM roles, credit card receipts, etc. In the 1990’s thermal sensitive paper was virgin to India and was available only in Japan and Korea. My father, Mr. Narendra Pasari always believed in being innovative and to bring technologies that are futuristic in nature. So, the collaboration of Thermal Sensitive Paper was with South Korea's largest paper manufacturer, Hansol Paper. It was a technical collaboration to manufacture, produce and market thermal sensitive paper under the name of Shree Krishna Paper Mills & Industries Ltd (SKPMIL) in India. The collaboration started in 1992 and went up till 2002. We commercially launched thermal sensitive paper in the year 1994 which was at par quality with imported thermal paper in India,” said Mr Naynesh Pasari, Director of the company to The Ply Reporter.

In the year 2004, the company invested to setup a paper manufacturing unit using recycled raw materials such as old newspapers and magazines, etc. The plant was setup primarily to manufacture newsprint and writing printing papers in India. The total production capacity of the plant is 60,000 TPA. Until 2009 we used to manufacture commodity grades, however with the vision and the culture of our company which is to bring innovative products we conducted R&D to venture into grades such as electric insulating paper and steel interleaving paper

The company believes in spending large sums of money in R&D and create inhouse technologies of producing papers with our own recipe and blend of chemicals and Raw materials, pulp etc.

In the year 2010 we did a lot of research and got to know about film face paper, the paper which was produced by primarily ITC and PudumJee. We saw an opportunity here as we realised that construction activity will increase in a developing economy like India.

Following the company ethics, they developed their own in-house technology, they have never copied any raw materials or chemicals, or techniques from other mills. The company launched in shuttering base paper in the year 2011 using its own technology. “Recently we got some evidence that other mills in India have copied SKPMIL’s technique of shuttering base paper. We have only one message to them “Develop and innovate on your own, cross that journey, stand on your own feet, copying is easy but being original is difficult!”

We have recently developed Black shuttering papers in the year 2018 which is also gaining a lot of demand from the markets. Typically it is a trend, when the builder asks for black shuttering and then everyone follows to the same product.

In the next 5 years, our company’s vision is to remain a niche product company in the market. We are currently also catering our food grade approved high BF kraft paper to many fast food giants in UK and USA. The real satisfaction is in creating something new and that is what you will see from SKPMIL in the years to come.

The company’s prime objective is to satisfy consumers with the best quality giving them the best service. SKPM does not believe in turnovers, profits etc. getting repeat orders from consumers are the biggest achievements of SKPMIL, said Mr. Naynesh Pasari.
