China ’s Plywood Exports Grew 40 % In 2021

China had posted robust growth in its Plywood exports in year 2021. China Customs reported that the plywood exports from country were 12.35mn cbm valued at USD 5.9bn in 2021, up 19% in volume and 40% in value year on year.

China’s plywood export markets remain diverse and the volume of the top 10 destination countries made up 50% of total exports. Philippines, UK, Japan, USA and Vietnam are the largest importers of Chinese plywood.

Report also said that Production of country’s plywood industries have risen from 110mn cbm in 2012 to 215mn cbm in 2020. Although, China plywood exports contributes just 5% of total production.

As per ITTO, there were more than 15,200 plywood manufacturers with a total annual production capacity of 256 million cubic metres in China at the end of 2020 distributed in 26 provinces. 2,050 plywood production enterprises were under construction in China at the beginning of 2021 with a total production capacity of about 24mn cbm/year.
