Strandply OSB presented an innovative panel solution made of 100% eucalyptus and pure resin. Oriented strand board (OSB) is a type of engineered wood similar to particle board, formed by adding adhesives and then compressing layers of wood strands (flakes) in specific orientations. It is a multigrain product that does not require heating or sanding. It is a flat panel made of all glue lines, unlike plywood, which uses alternate glue lines. They showcased its strength and other features with its applications, which people appreciated.
“It was previously imported, and we have stated that it is now manufactured in India.”This is the first plant in India, based in Rajkot. It has two types of products: calibrated and noncalibrated. Its application is wide, from interior to furniture, wall paneling, partitions, and packaging,” said Mr Jimit Mehta, Strandply OSB. “We have a daily production capacity of 6000 sheets (4x8 sq ft).It comes in thicknesses ranging from 8 mm to 25 mm.It holds screws and nails better than plywood. Its density is more than 700 densities,” he said further. It can be painted directly and it is much cost effective solution to the amount of 30% less cost medium segment plywood. They are looking for dealers and distributors for their market and sales.
