Formaldehyde Price Surge Impact: Ilma Advises to Review New Orders

Monday, 13 October 2025

Indian Laminate Manufacturers Association (ILMA) has advised to review the prices of laminate on prevailing formaldehyde prices due to high methanol rate since the previous week.  In a letter to their members ILMA has issued a letter and states that considering the current situation of formaldehyde price impact, the supply has become volatile with frequent market fluctuations.

ILMA says that it is essential to maintain a disciplined payment cycle, as this remains a crucial requirement for the stability and sustainability of the Industry. Strict credit control measures must be implemented and formal MOUs with buyers should be established to define and agree upon the terms of trade.

As per industry report, many Laminate producers are quoting a price hike in 0.72 mm and 0.8 mm thickness laminate with immediate effect.
