The regional natural calamity has encumbered the already under pressure Indian plywood sector, which is already grappling with high raw material costs, BIS compliance and tightened credit availability. The crisis has worsened after the Ganga crossed its previous Highest Flood Level (HFL) at Gandhi Ghat in Patna, prompting authorities to issue alerts for downstream areas.
As per Ply Reporter sources, the wood industries at NEWS several towns and districts such as Patna, Hajipur, Mujaffarpur, Bhojpur, Saran, Vaishali, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Buxar, Samastipur, Munger, Katihar, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, Purnea etc are likely to face the impact of devastating deluge, the stakeholders in these regions are advised to brace themselves up and make needful arrangement to curb the irreparable impact of this natural calamity.
