The film faced shuttering plywood demand was seen picking up pace during February with the starting of construction activities across the country. In March, the commodity prices witnessed sharp jump that led to buying of higher quantities. The reports coming from various project consultants and builders across India are not only very encouraging post price inflation in steel and cement, but is actively reflecting in film face plywood demands. The shuttering plywood manufacturers are receiving decent orders from distributors that are led by requirements emerging at large construction sites and government projects.
According to reports at different construction sites, the held-up or slow-moving projects have now resumed their work in full swing, which has generated shuttering ply requirements at large. In North India, the Film Face Plywood manufacturing units were observed running at full capacity in March. Almost every shuttering ply maker looks upbeat with ongoing pendency of orders. It is also evident that payment cycle has dropped to weekly cycle, compared to earlier 60 days practice.
The order flow is notably coming from cities in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Assam, Gujarat, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Karnataka, Bihar and Rajasthan. The construction activities have taken a fast pace in these states as new manufacturing facilities of different products are also being installed apart from government led projects. The commercially leading cities like Pune, Kolhapur, Surat, Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam, Guwahati, Delhi- NCR, Mohali along with Tri-cities are also driving the demand.
The Commercial grade MR shuttering plywood is in high demand in rural markets and tier three cities now. The infra related projects and high-rise big projects led demand for 34 kg PF is continued to be high in all metro cities. The overall scenario for Semi-densified grade of commercial shuttering plywood is witnessing a sharp rise after 3rd wave of pandemic.
The manufacturers say that they are getting consistent orders and there are nearly 30 days pending orders in March Month. With increasing demand, the manufacturers are confident and upbeat. Although, experts say that the demand may come down during the post April month, because of high rise in prices of Steel and Cement, which lead to slow construction activities temporarily.
